About BenBen Rogers is a musician and recording enthusiast who, in an effort to combine these interests, started Loud Sun Studio in 2006. Since then, he has worked in music production, post production audio for film, live recording, and live sound engineering. Ben and his wife Kate live in southwestern New Hampshire and spend their free time on motorcycle rides, hiking, and taking care of their hens and cats.
AUDIO PRODUCTION FOR FILM Ben began working in the film community as a boom operator. Fascinated by the filming process he eventually took on the roles of sound recordist and sound mixer. Ben’s familiarity with Avid Pro Tools and with working in the studio made post production audio a natural fit for him. He has provided audio on location for production teams such as Cavelight Productions, BetwixtNbetween Films, Wayward Ark Productions, Yasvin Communications, and Align Pictures. His film mix credit’s include Haptic Pictures' Sisters Rising, Angela Snow’s Mortality of Dreams, Laina Barakat’s Light Attaching To A Girl, and Amy Jenkins' Instructions on Parting. MUSIC PRODUCTION New England offers up a wide range of music including Americana, folk, folk-rock, prog-rock, indie-rock, metal, experimental, classical, chamber choir, electronica, ambient, and hip hop — all of which Ben has enjoyed recording at Loud Sun. Some of his mixing and recording credit’s include Wooden Dinosaur’s Spaces, Omoo Omoo's The Last Year, The Cold River Ranter’s Watershed, Veronica Lewis' You Ain't Unlucky, Tyler Allgood's Through The Empty, and Footings’ Alienation. MUSICIAN Originally a guitarist, Ben also plays drums and percussion, dabbling in bass, keyboards, and vocals when the mood strikes. He was a member of the instrumental rock group, Death to Tyrants, and is currently one half of the recording duo Current to Ground, a member of the recording collective, _Fields, and records his own music under the title, Son of the Renegade. In the past, he has performed with the groups Moving Pictures, Adam and the Flood, Redwing Blackbird, The Dave Kontak Ensemble, and Lonesome Lake. Ben is happy to add an instrumental touch in the studio when needed and has been honored to provide percussion on recordings for artists including Tom Weldon, Jim Murphy, Tyler Allgood, Wendy Keith, Footings, Ken and Dan Durand, and Michael McCarthy. |
